Fernweh is German for far ache, a longing for distant places, the opposite of homesickness. Duden, the German dictionary, marks it elevated, built from fern, far, and Weh, ache. The tee prints the word over low hills receding to a far horizon at sunset, with the line the ache for places you have never been beneath it.

Tshirts are fine. Perhaps a tad too big compared to the a normal Large size. Certainly not a slim fit design. I waited quite a long period to get them, around a month.

What does fernweh mean?
Fernweh means a longing or yearning for distant places, the ache to travel rather than the ache to be home. It is built from the German fern, far or distant, and Weh, pain or ache, literally far ache, and is the direct opposite of Heimweh, homesickness.
How do you pronounce fernweh, and where does the word come from?
Say it FAIRN-vay. It is a German compound, fern, far, joined to Weh, ache, and Duden, the standard German dictionary, marks its use as elevated or literary rather than everyday. It circulates widely in English as a borrowed word rather than a translated one.
What is printed on the fernweh T-shirt?
